Trim levels indicate a model’s level of equipment, which can range from convenient features such as remote start, to additional safety features, such as lane assist. Once you have these needs taken care of, you can look at options such as the preferred color of your new vehicle.

Here is a suggested exercise for honing in on the perfect vehicle for you:

• Write down the top 10 features you want most out of a vehicle if price and payment were of NO CONCERN
• Narrow that list down to the top 5 features you “cannot live without”
• Now, in order of importance, how would you rank the following? Performance, Reliability, Economy, Safety, Style
• How do these rankings align with your wants? Can you list your top “want” features under the categories you listed first?

Now that you have taken a step back to look at the big picture, you may have a more defined path to the vehicle that will suit you best.
