How to Use the VW Lane Assist Technology?
The Lane Departure Warning system, also known as Lane Assist, is easy to use once you know what you’re doing. Plus, its benefits will give you peace of mind for the safety of your car, yourself and your passengers.

Using a forward facing camera, the vehicle can detect lane markings while traveling faster than 40 mph. If the system detects that you’re starting to move outside of those traffic lane markings, it can take action by controlling the steering to direct the vehicle back within its lane.

The system also knows if your turn signal is on or off, because if it’s on, it will allow you to change lanes or make a turn without activating. Do note, however, that if you feel the Lane Departure Warning system is activating at a time when it shouldn’t, you can easily override it by turning the steering wheel back in the direction you want to go or by turning on your turning signal.
