What Is the Digital Cockpit In the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas?
When it comes to the completely new 2018 Volkswagen Atlas SUV, there is so much to be excited about. In addition to the big and bold design and powerful engine specs, the Atlas will be available with a number of exciting features, including the Volkswagen Digital Cockpit. What is it? Let’s find out.
You may also hear the Digital Cockpit referred to as the Active Information Display, but despite the different names, it is the same feature. This feature is exactly what the name suggests… it is a digital display in place of a traditional instrument cluster.
Like a normal instrument cluster, however, the available 12.3-inch display shares key driving information like your speed. In addition to that though, the Digital Cockpit can also display navigation direction and Driver Assistance settings, making it much more versatile than a typical instrument cluster. Moreover, it can be reconfigured to suit your own driving needs, such as making the speedometer bigger or focusing on a navigation map view.
Other High Tech Features In the VW Atlas
The new VW Atlas is certainly a high tech vehicle, and the available Digital Cockpit isn’t the only reason why. There are also a number of other features that deliver modern amenities to your driving experience.
For example, the 2018 Atlas offers an available 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display, which allows you to access Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to stay well connected on the go. When it comes to how the vehicle actually drives, an available Driving Mode Selection feature allows you to switch between Eco, Normal, Sport and Custom modes.
