What is the engine lineup?
The first thing we want to discuss in terms of this SUV is what kind of engine you’ll be finding underneath the hood. This is one of the first things that any car owner is going to be interested in, and for good reason. The engine is the heart of what makes a vehicle so special. In the case of the Atlas Cross Sport, there are two engines you are choosing from. Both engines are offered with either front- or all-wheel drive, depending on your preferences. The base engine is a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder, which can offer you 258 pound-feet of torque and up to 235 horsepower. The other available engine is a 3.6-liter V6, which produces 266 pound-feet of torque and up to 276 horsepower. Both engines are comfortable with a standard eight-speed automatic transmission.
What are the trim levels?
After you’ve considered the engine that is best suited to your lifestyle, you might want to consider all of the trim levels that Volkswagen has given the Atlas Cross Sport. The very first trim we are looking at today is S. This model comes in with power heated side mirrors, LED headlights and daytime running lights, two USB ports, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and cruise control. Moving up to the SE trim gets you heated front seats, five USB ports, keyless entry, a power driver’s seat, an 8-inch touchscreen, push-button start, and a power liftgate. Tracking to the top of the lineup here is the SEL Premium R-Line. This model comes with an overhead-view camera, leather seating surfaces, 21-inch wheels, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and stainless-steel pedal caps.
What are the available safety features?
The final thing we are going over with you today is what you can expect to find with this SUV in terms of safety. Everywhere you turn, there’s another small feature that ensures you and your passengers are kept safe. Some of the best standard features include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, and forward-collision warning. An optional feature, when you get a specific trim and package, is adaptive cruise control. Together, these features create an environment that is as safe as it is comfortable.
