What We Know About the Volkswagen Arteon
If you pay any attention to the latest VW news, you’ve probably heard some whispers about a new model called the Volkswagen Arteon. Though the details of what we know about this vehicle are slim, there are some details out there that give us a better idea of what we can expect once the model is officially unveiled.
What Is the VW Arteon?
First of all, what is the Arteon? Why is Volkswagen building it? Is it a production model or a concept? The story going around the internet is that the Arteon is designed to replace the CC, VW’s sporty 4-door coupe.
Though we know little about the official design, it does appear that the Arteon will carry forward the CC’s unique sporty sedan qualities. And, from what we can tell, it appears that the Arteon will look awfully similar to the Sport Coupe GTE concept shown back in 2015. Go ahead and compare the photos and video posted here to see for yourself.
Volkswagen Arteon Interior Features and Specs
According to a report from Car and Driver, the interior of the Arteon features plenty of backseat passenger room. Moreover, the rear seats can be folded down to offer 60 cu. ft. of cargo space. If that figure is accurate, the model would be right up there with the Golf family when it comes to cars that offer tons of cargo hauling ability.
Though the interior referenced in the report was camouflaged, it sounds as though the Arteon is expected to have wood-like accents, like the current Passat. A big feature mentioned is also a 9.2-inch touchscreen.
Though what we currently know about the Volkswagen Arteon is slim, it will just have to tide us over for now until the official launch. To stay updated on more news as it arrives, be sure to follow us on the Findlay Volkswagen blog.
