2016 Volkswagen Passat Changes
While 2016 model year details have been released for every other VW model, we have still been left waiting to learn about what Volkswagen has in store for the Passat. Thankfully, the wait is over and VW has revealed that the 2016 Volkswagen Passat changes in some significant ways compared to the previous model year.
New 2016 VW Passat Design
The 2016 Passat receives a number of new and exciting features, which we will get into. But perhaps most significant is the new design found inside and outside the Passat. We will let the photos do most of the talking here, but we will say that the mid-size sedan receives an updated instrument panel, a more premium-looking center stack, and new designs for the front and rear exterior of the vehicle.
Does the 2016 Passat have Android Auto and Apple CarPlay?
If you’ve paid any attention to the features rolled out for the 2016 Volkswagen model year, you’ll likely be aware that most 2016 models so far have received the new MIB II infotainment system with available VW Car-Net App-Connect that allows for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink smartphone connectivity. These have been highly anticipated features, and we are delighted to say that they will be available in the 2016 Passat.
Other features to be found in the 2016 Volkswagen Passat include a number of driver assistance systems. The Passat comes standard with the Automatic Post-Collision Braking System, which applies the brakes after a collision is detected by the airbag sensors in order to help reduce further damage. Other available driver assistance features include Adaptive Cruise Control, Park Steering Assistant and Lane Departure Warning.

New 2016 VW Passat R-Line Features
For the first time ever, the Passat will be offered as an R-Line model. The R-Line is known for its sporty qualities and characteristics, and this is no different for the Passat R-Line. The model will have unique rocker panels, a modified rear diffuser, 19-inch anthracite Salvador aluminum-alloy wheels and a front bumper stylized with black accents.
The 2016 Volkswagen Passat changes make the model look more sophisticated than ever. Drivers will still have a range of engine options available to pick from, in addition to the Passat’s premium-quality features. Be sure to contact us about the model’s availability here at Findlay Volkswagen.
